ESTHER JEAN OSGERBY BRIDE OF DETROIT MAN
Marriage to Mr. Steven George Lakatos Occurs in Vassar Presbyterian Church.

Nearly 200 relatives and friends attended the wedding of Esther Jean Osgerby, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.K. Osgerby of Vassar, and Mr. Steven George Lakatos of Detroit. They spoke their vows in the Presbyterian church of Vassar at three o'clock Saturday afternoon, October 25 [1941].

The altar was banked with palms, green and white chrysanthemums. Candle light furnished a beautiful setting. The center aisle was lined with greens topped by yellow mums. Betty June and Jean Osgerby sealed the aisle with white ribbons as the bride and her attendants entered to the strains of Mendelssohn's Wedding March, played by Mrs. Cecil Baker.

The bride's gown was of white moire taffeta and wore a fingertip veil and carried gardenias and white baby mums. Her maid of honor was Miss Louis Henderson of Mason, who wore pink chiffon and carried pink mums. Jean Osgerby acted as flower girl and her gown was a replica of that worn by the bride..

The groom was attended by his brother, Robert Lakatos of Detroit. The bride was given in marriage by her father, J.K. Osgerby. Rev. Milo Wood read the marriage ceremony. Mrs. L.J. Osgerby sang "I Love You Truly" and "Because" with violin obligato by Torrey Osgerby.

The ushers were Torrey Osgerby of Vassar, brother of the bride, William Supko and William Besnick of Detroit. A reception in the church parlors followed the ceremony. The same evening the immediate families enjoyed a formal dinner and reception at the home of the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Steven Lakatos at 20005 Riopelle Avenue, Detroit.

Out of town guests were from Caro, Reese, Mayville, Saginaw, East Tawas, Harbor Beach, Ann Arbor, Bellevue, Durand, Mason, Detroit, and Findlay, Ohio.

Mrs. Lakatos is a graduate of University of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor, and Mr. Lakatos is a post graduate of the University of Michigan as a Chemical Engineer and holds a responsible position in Detroit where they will make their home.
