Obituary, The Oklahoman, Jan 24, 2008:
Madelynn Champ Bowman, 85, passed away on Jan 21, 2008 in Oklahoma City after a lengthy illness. She was born on Sep 3, 1922 and spent most of her life in OKC. After graduating from the University of Tulsa, Madelynn enjoyed a career in the medical field as a medical technologist for over 40 years.

She loved to travel and did so extensively, both here and abroad. She was a longtime member of the Ladies Music Club, Book Club, Widow's Club, and a patron of the Canterbury Choral Society. Madelynn also enjoyed playing bridge with many of her close friends. She was an avid supporter of animals and contributed much of her resources to that cause.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Byrne Bowman in 2000 and her mother, E Leana Champ in 1992. She is survived by numerous cousins, extended family and a host of close friends.

Services will be held Friday, Jan 25, 2008 at 11 am at the Hahn-Cook chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G Komen Foundation.
