Edith Ferner
Edith Skelton Ferner, was born May 10, 1881 at Ford County, Illinois, the daughter of James Henry Skelton and Ruth Foote Skelton. She died February 28, 1974 in a Visalia convalescent home.
She was a native of Ford County, Illinois. She grew up there and was married to John Wesley Ferner in 1903. They moved to the Los Angeles area in 1923 where Mrs. Ferner worked as a cook for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley Ferner, who died in 1937 and a daughter, Fay Genevieve Ferner who died in 1969.
She is survived by a brother, William Skelton of Minnesota, and several nephews and nieces, including Eloise Hunter of Visalia.
Friends may call at the Miller Memorial Funeral Chapel after 6 p.m. today and all day tomorrow. Cremation will be in Fresno at the Chapel of the Light.
