Mildred Stephens Whitaker, 93, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2011.

Born July 7, 1918 in Layton, Utah, the daughter of Fredrick J. and Lucy A. Lavender Stephens. Attended Layton Elementary and Davis High Schools. Married John W. Vest, October 19, 1934. Later divorced.

Married Don Whitaker August 31, 1963. He preceded her in death on February 13, 2003. She was also preceded in death by one son, Eldon W. Vest.

She is survived by one son, Kenneth (Kay) Vest of Bountiful, Utah; one daughter, Mavis (Wayne) Hadley of Mesa, Arizona; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Employed by Safeway Stores, Inc. for 21 years.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, July 29, 2011 at the Kaysville City Cemetery, 500 Crestwood Rd. A viewing will be held prior to services from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main.
