Bountiful - - Stella Stephens Swanger. Peterson, died Monday, November 4, 2002 at the South Davis Community Hospital after an extended illness.

She was born Nov. 26, 1902 in Hennefer, a daughter of Fredrick Jones and Lucy Ann Lavender Stephens.

She married George D. Swanger on September 16, 1922. Their marriage was later solemnized in Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died April 1949. She married H.O. Peterson on November 8, 1951. He died on June 13, 1991.

Stella was an active life-long member of the LDS Church. She served in many positions. She enjoyed working on and spent many hours on her genealogy. She loved camping, fishing and traveling; also sewing and handiwork.

Survived by one son and one daughter, Glen D. Swanger (Cathy), Bountiful; LaRue S. Loock (Leo), Ogden; two stepsons, Nels Peterson (Evelyn), Pleasant Hills, California, and Lyle Peterson (Barbara), Roy; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grand-children; 14 great-great grand-children; also two sisters, Dorothy Poulter, Mildred Whitaker. Preceded in death by son Eugene Swanger.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 11, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, where friends may call Sun. evening from 5-7 p.m. and Monday morning from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment - Kaysville City Cemetery.
