Dorothy Stephens Poulter passed away Saturday, March 10, 2007 at a care center in Fallbrook, California. She was 94 years old and only a week short of her 95th birthday.

Dorothy was born March 17, 1912 in Layton, Utah to Fredrick Jones and Lucy Ann Lavender Stephens. She attended schools in Davis County and graduated from Davis High School in 1930.

She married Wilson Poulter on November 29, 1933 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They had two boys, Larry Wilson Poulter and Roger Stephen Poulter. Wilson passed away in 1990.

Dorothy resided in Kanesville, (later known as West Haven) Utah for most of her life where she made and enjoyed many lasting friendships. In recent years, she also lived with her son Larry in Ogden, Utah and with her son Roger in Oceanside, California, where she was residing just prior to her death.

Dorothy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Her hobbies included bowling, snowmobiling and traveling. She and Wilson traveled throughout much of the United States including Alaska, as well as Mexico and Canada, in their trailer and RV. One of Dorothy's favorite pastimes was to play cards with her friends and go out for lunch and an afternoon drive. She also enjoyed cross-word puzzles, TV game shows, the Utah Jazz and family reunions. Dorothy took pride in landscaping and maintaining her yard and garden.

She is survived by one sister, Mildred Stephens Whitaker, of Bountiful, UT; two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Flora Ann Poulter of Ogden, UT; Roger (Mary Jane) Poulter, Oceanside, CA; 10 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Lucy Stephens, four brothers, F. Leland Stephens, Mervin L. Stephens, Thomas W. Stephens, and John Henry Stephens, and four sisters, Stella A. Peterson, M. Lucille Hardy, Hazel Robins and Margaret Lucy Stephens.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Friends may call at the mortuary on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday Noon to 12:45 p.m.
