HUTCHINS, Fannie Jenkins, died June 21, 1940, age 50 years, born about 1890. Alabama Death Records show her husband as Albert L. Hutchins and her parents were Hiram L. Jenkins and Georgia Ann Bledsoe Jenkins. Southside residents knew she was buried in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, but thought her last name was Jenkins…not Hutchins. Her husband, Albert L., and children, Fred, Carl, Margaret "Marg" Hutchins Bryant Shirley (Mrs. Eschol Shirley) are all buried in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery. It is uncertain where Fannie's child, Henry was buried. She also had an infant 6 month old son, Clyde, who died August 4, 1926 in Birmingham, AL.The son, Walter William "Walt" Hutchins, was buried in Cleburne County at the Borden Springs Church of Christ Cemetery.

Fannie has no tombstone, but a painted block has been placed on the hill of the cemetery near Fred's tombstone. (Note that these blocks will be removed since the new inscribed monument has been placed in memory of Fannie.)

UPDATE OCTOBER 2014: Pilgrims Rest Cemetery placed two "Unmarked Graves" monuments inscribed with names of persons buried somewhere within this cemetery without markers. The new monuments are near the flag pole in the middle of the old hill.
