Obituary in The Gadsden Times: Georgia Jenkins, born in Chambers County, Alabama died 6 Dec. 1937 after a lingering illness at the residence of her daughter Mrs. Alderson in Glencoe. She was survived by one son, W.M. Jenkins; five daughters, Mrs. Grover Cleveland (Bessie) Leatherwood, Mrs. C.L. (Emma) Pugh, Mrs. A.L. (Fannie) Hutchins, Mrs. Tillmon E. (Sudie) Letherwood (note how they spelled surname, but her brother-in-law, Grover Cleveland, used the name Leatherwood) and Mrs. Tony (Florence) Alderson. Funeral at New Hope Church and buried in New Hope Church Cemetery.

1870 Federal census shows Georgia lived in Chambers Co., AL with her parents and 8 brothers and sisters. Parents: G.L. Bledsoe married 19 May 1850 in Chambers Co., AL to Lonely (inaccurate spelling) Chappell. 1880 George L. Bledsoe and Lovey Bledsoe lived in Hokes Bluff, Etowah Co., AL - Georgia Ann also lived in the household. Georgia's mother was Lovey or Lovie Chappell Bledsoe.

Etowah County Marriages: H.L. Jenkins and G.A. Bledsoe married 24 November 1881.

Hiram and Georgia's children: Bessie Jenkins married Grover Cleveland Leatherwood in 1913. Fannie married A.L. Hutchins. Charlie D. married Ollie Thrift. Emma married Clifford L. Pugh. Sudie married Tillmon E. Letherwood in 1916. Willie, a daughter. Alma married J. Frank Jones, William McKinley married Bertha Chestnut. Florence married Tony A. Alderson.

Bessie buried Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Fannie, Charlie D., and Willie, the daughter, all buried in Pilgrims Rest. A. Jost Jenkins - buried alongside Willie and Hiram. Florence buried Bristow Cove. Emma and Sudie both buried in Crestwood Cemetery. William M. and Alma - no information about burials at this time.

Hiram Jenkins, grandson, placed markers on his grandparents graves, Georgia and Hiram Jenkins, as stated by the grandson's wife, Rebecca to ngl (submitter of memorial.) Note dates differ from newspaper and death records. The flat marker for Georgia Jenkins is in front of a tall tombstone for R.B. wife of J.A. Alderson.
