William Joy died at the home of his niece, Mrs. Jennie Ryan, Green Street, Au Sable Forks, Tuesday, the 11th of January, 1944, at 11:30 a.m. He had not been in good health for some time, but it was 12 days prior to his death that he suffered a fall which confined him to his bed.
Mr. Joy was eighty-nine years old. He was born on Green Street, the son of Abigail Daby and Royal Dyer Joy.
He was survived by four daughters: Mrs. John Everson and Mrs. W. P. Reamsch of Syracuse, Mrs. W. Orlop of Schenectady and Mrs. Harold A. Sheldon of Staten Island; also five grandsons and three granddaughters.
