Frank H. Joy, who was employed by Frank Havens of Green Street, Au Sable Forks, fell from his wagon just below the Grove on Thursday afternoon, November 1, 1923. He narrowly escaping having his head crushed by the wheels. Neighbors seeing him lying under the wagon dragged him out and summoned a physician at once. His condition was critical with a small chance of recovery, being paralyzed from the waist down, with other complications. Frank died from these complications two weeks later on November 15, 1923 at the home of Frank Havens. His body was removed to the home of his sister, Mrs. William Smith, of Green Street, Au Sable Forks, from which place he was buried the following Saturday in North Jay Cemetery.
