Jimmy L. Byrd - 47, of Helenwood, passed away suddenly Tuesday, February 13, 1990. He was the son of Carrie Leona Foster Byrd and the late General (Buddy) Byrd. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church at Capital Hill, and was a longtime employee of Thermoid.

Mr. Byrd is survived by his mother, Carrie Leona Byrd of Elgin; his wife, Rosalee Cross Byrd; and daughter Natasha Byrd, both of Helenwood; four sisters: Ruth Simpson and husband, Ruble of Dayton, O., Faye Hensley and husband, T. D. of Knoxville, Joyce Bailey and husband, Don of Elgin, and Beulah Newport and husband, Paul of Lewisburg, O.; four brothers: Wiley Byrd and wife, Kitty of Amherst, O., Leon Byrd of the Capital Hill community, Kenneth Byrd and wife, Margarette of Frankfort, Germany, Earl Moore and wife, Rose of Helenwood; mother-in-law, Bell Cross of Pioneer; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, February 16, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Jones and Son Funeral Home with Bro. Stan Vespie and Bro. Dilbert Terry officiating. Burial was in the Concord Cemetery in Robbins. Serving as pallbearers were: Phillip Kidd, Estel Bond, Rob Acres, Ronnie Carson, Gary Boyatt, and D. R. Gagne.
