Rather unexpectedly Mrs. Ferd. Paustian died at 3 o'clock yesterday morning at her home in the second ward. She reached the advanced age of 79 years, 6 months and 4 days and had been suffering with the afflictions of old age.

Mrs. Sophie Paustian, nee Roll, was born Nov. 2, 1834 in Germany and came to Watertown in 1858. There she was married March 25, 1860 to Ferd. Paustian who survives her as do five children: Albert at Brillion, Anna at home, Martha, Mrs. Oswald Liebscher, Thiensville, Clara, at home. Paula, Mrs. Oscar Naber, this city.

Three children died years ago. She also leaves a brother, J. F. Roll, Belgrade, Montana.

In 1865 the Paustians moved to Mayville where they have since resided. We join their many friends in extending heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved relatives.

The funeral takes place at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Dr. H. Forkmann will speak the eulogy.

Wednesday morning at 3 a.m., the wife of Ferdinand Paustian, of the second ward, Mayville, died following a short illness and frailties of old age, at the age of 79 years, six months and four days.

Born Sophie Roll November 2, 1834 in Germany, she was married to Ferdinand Paustian on March 25, 1860.

In 1865 they came to Mayville, where they remained.

In addition to her elderly husband, she leaves the following five children: Albert Paustian in Brillion, Calumet County, Wis., Anna Paustian at home, Martha, Mrs. Oswald Liebscher, Thiensville, Ozaukee, Co., Wis., Clara Paustian at home and Paula, Mrs. Oscar Naber in Mayville. Three children died previously, years ago.

In addition to the husband and surviving children, she leaves one brother, J. F. Roll in Belgrade, Montana.

The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m., Dr. Hans H. Forkmann presiding.

Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m., the funeral of deceased Mrs. Ferdinand Paustian originated at the house of mourning, in the second ward, where Dr. Hans H. Forkmann delivered a brief eulogy. The funeral procession, consisting of relatives, friends and acquaintances then moved to Graceland Cemetery, where Mr. Forkmann again gave a suitable address to the large mourning gathering and her remains was given up to the bosom of the earth.

The following relatives and friends from abroad came for the funeral service: Friedrich Roll, Mrs. Hattie Pagel, Mr. & Mrs. Paul Roll, Richard Roll, Sr., and Richard Roll, Jr., Hustisford, Mr. & Mrs. M.
