Jonathan Davenport died at his home in Rowe at 4 o'clock yesterday morning. Mr Davenport was a man highly respected by all, a prosperous farmer and prominent in all the affairs of the town. He was a selectman of Rowe for 17 years; a member of the Grand Army; was in the 7th New York cavalry, a member of Union Lodge of Odd Fellows. He had lived in Rowe for 50 years. In 1863 he married Mary C Warner of Charlemont, and on Sept 24, 1918, they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary, all their children and grandchildren attending. Beside his widow, he leaves four sons and three daughters, Mrs Edwin Vincent of Charlemont, Mrs George L Bolton of Malden, Mrs Dennie V Carpenter of Charlemont, Edward D of New Bedford; Frank A of Rowe; Louis A of Randolph, N.H., Jonathan W of Rowe, also several grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Rev E G Hooper of Charlemont will officiate at the funeral of Mr Davenport's home at 11 o'clock to-morrow morning. The burial will be in East cemetery in Rowe.
