November 26, 1913, he was united in marriage to Abbie Luksik. To this union were born four children, Frank, Fred, Vlasta and Gladys.
He was a kind and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was engaged in farming until his death.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Abbie, who died November 25, 1961; by his parents; his brothers, Jim and Albert; by half-sisters, Marie Becwar, Katie Kabley and Tena Skanpo; and by half-brothers, Mike, John and Frank.
Those remaining to mourn his departure are two sons, Frank of Fairmont and Fred of Geneva; two daughters, Vlasta (Mrs. William) Novak of Geneva and Gladys (Mrs. Earl) Larka of Norfolk; daughters-in-law, Mrs. Frank (Helen) Bures of Fairmont; sons-in-law, William Novak of Geneva and Earl Larka of Norfolk; grandchildren, Bill Bures, Paul, JoAnn and Tommy Novak and Curtis Larka; brothers Joe and Charles of Fairmont and Tom of Exeter; sisters, Anna Zeleny of Fairmont, Theresa Sluka of Geneva and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Kritner-Farmer Funeral Home in Geneva at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 2, Rev. Robert Kasper officiating. Mrs. Albert Kassik and Mrs. Albert Naimon sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "Going Home." Mrs. Naimon was accompanist. Pallbearers were Erwin Bures, John Bures, Leo Bures Sr., William J. Bures, Paul Novak and Mike Zeleny. Interment was in the Bohemian National Cemetery at Milligan.
