Mr. Buresh was a devoted and loving father, a fine neighbor and friend, always willing to help those in need.
A precious one from us has gone,
A voice we loved is still;
A place is vacant in our home,
Which never can be filled.
God calls our loved ones, but we lose not wholly what He hath given--
They live on earth in thought and deed,
As truly as in his Heaven.
The funeral services were held from the home Saturday, April 20, at 1:30, and at the Methodist Church in Oak at 2:00 o'clock. The services were in charge of the pastor, Rev. Clarence V. Powell, assisted by Mrs. Powell. The music was furnished by a quartet from Davenport: Doris and Darrell Keim and Luetta Harper and Harry Row with Mrs. Jess Harper presiding at the piano. The pallbearers were John Myers, Sr., James Moore, Will Johnson, John Scroggin, Harry Moore, and Ray Lowery. The body was laid to rest in the cemetery at Davenport. There were in attendance at the services more than a hundred relatives.
CARD OF THANKS.
We wish to take this means of thanking all who so kindly assisted and stood by during the recent hour of our bereavement in the loss of our father. To the Happy Home Club and the Junior Aid, and all others who brought food, and to those who so efficiently served the noon-day meal and the afternoon lunch. To the minister for his comforting message, and to the singers for the music. To all who sent floral offerings of which there were many and which served as a silent tribute of the esteem in which the deceased was held. The Sons and Daughters and their families of the late Mike Buresh.
