Ms. Mable Louise Hazelwood was born on April 3, 1949, to the union of the late Aaron and Pattie Hazelwood in Belzoni, MI.


She was the youngest of ten children consisting of seven girls, three boys, and one adopted brother.


Four siblings preceded her in death, Odean Childs, Willie Hazelwood, Verdia Mae Bass, and Quinesta Hazelwood; and one adopted brother, Ira Gates.


She confessed a hope in Christ at the age of ten under the leadership of the late Rev. K. D. Rush at Beautiful Zion M. B. Church on Goathill Road.


She attended Payne Elementary School and McNair High School, where she was a member of the basketball team.


At the age of seventeen, Mable moved to Milwaukee, WI; and joined Friendship M. B. Church under the leadership of the late Rev. J. C. Hughes. She held such jobs as babysitting and was employed at Steven Brian Nursing Home and Cleveland Participation Corporation.


When her mother became ill in 1992, she moved back to Belzoni, MS; to care for her. She reunited with Beautiful Zion M. B. Church under the leadership of Rev. Eddie Barnes.


She departed this life on April 11, 2004, at her home.


To carry on her legacy, she leaves three children, Latasha Hazelwood, Shillese L. Hazelwood, and DeAndre Hazelwood all of Belzoni, MS; three sisters, Teresa Wigley and Frankie Hall of Milwaukee, WI; Janette Harris of Detroit, MI; two brothers, Aaron Hazelwood, Jr., and Joseph {Lucille} Hazelwood of Belzoni, MS; one living aunt, Nannie Pearson of Milwaukee, WI; one sister-in-law, two brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
