STAUNTON —Annie Arlene (Armstrong) Trayer, 84, widow of Robert Luther Trayer, of 135 S. Waverley St., died Sunday, July 10, 2011, at Emeritus in Staunton.

She was born Dec. 2, 1926, in Headwaters, a daughter of the late William Arlie and Margie May (Ervine) Armstrong.

She was a homemaker and also worked with her husband at the store that he owned, Robert L's Coins -Stamps Inc.

She was a member of the Shenandoah Valley Coin Club.

She attended Bethany Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her husband, who preceded her in death on March 20, 2011, she also was preceded in death by: three brothers, William E. Armstrong, Sibert Armstrong, Glen Armstrong; a half-brother, Brown Armstrong; two sisters, Betty Griffin and Mildred Clements; and two half-sisters, Hallie Mackey and Rebecca Hupman.

Family members include: a son, Robert W. Trayer and his fiancee, Michelle Dennhardt of Stuarts Draft; a daughter and son-in-law, Sherry T. and John Gentile of Yorktown; four sisters, Connie Townsend and Polly Ritchie, both of Staunton, Fay Colaw of Blue Grass, and Dottie Mitchell of Doe Hill; three granddaughters; two grandsons; and a great granddaughter.

A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2011, in Thornrose Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2011, in the Henry Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethany Presbyterian Church, 2501 Fifth St., Staunton, VA 24401.
