STAUNTON — Polly May Armstrong-Ritchie, 77, of 2991 Middlebrook Road, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville.

She was born on April 3, 1935, in Highland County, a daughter of the late William Arlie and Margie (Ervine) Armstrong.

Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Armstrong-Ritchie worked in construction. She was a member of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church.

Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Diane Ritchie of Staunton; grandchildren, Emily Glenn and her husband, Drew and Arlie Ritchie of Staunton; a great-grandson, Charlie Glenn of Mint Spring; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Rick Burnette of Staunton and three sisters, Faye Colaw of Blue Grass, Dottie Mitchell of Doe Hill and Connie Townsend of Staunton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Glenn Ritchie; four brothers and five sisters.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. JoAnn Bunn. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Joe Parady, Glen Sensabaugh, J.D. Robinson, Todd Burnette, Drew Glenn and Arlie Ritchie.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at the funeral home.
