Services for John L. Recker, 74, of Dyersville, will be at noon Monday at St. Francis Xavier Basilicia, Dyersville.
Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Sunday at Reiff Funeral Home, Dyersville, where a parish wake service will be at 8 p.m. Sunday.
John L. Recker was born in Worthington, Iowa on May 21, 1911. He married Marcella M. Conrad on September 21, 1936 in St. Clement's Catholic Church in Bankston, Iowa. He farmed until retiring in 1977.
Surviving are his wife, four daughter: Mrs. James (Marian) Krogmann of Winthrop, Iowa; Mrs. Charles (Lois) Taylor and Mrs. Ronald (Alice) Gudenkauf, both of New Vienna, Iowa; and Mrs. Paul (Grace) Rahe of Dyersville; two sons, Phil of Hopkinton, Iowa, and Joe of Earlville, Iowa; 35 grandchild-ren; a sister, Mrs. Cletus (Dorothy) Gaul of Farley, Iowa, and three brothers, Clarence and Anthony, both of Dyersville, and Julius of Manchester, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by a son, Gene, Died December 13, 1984.
A John L. Recker Memorial Fund has been established.
