Marcella M. Recker was born on February 13, 1914 near Bankston, Iowa to William and Anna (Loutsch) Conrad.

Marcella attended St. Clement's Catholic School.

Marcella was married on September 21, 1936 to John L. Recker in St. Clement's Catholic Churech in Bankston, Iowa.

Together they farmed soutwest of Dyersville until they retired in 1977 and moved into Dyersville, Iowa. She enjoyed crocheting and making afghans for her children and grandchildren. She volunteered much of her time to the church, school and Oak Crest Manor. She received the Governor's Award for Volunteerism.

Survivors include four daughters: Marian (James) Krogmann of Winthrop, Lois (Charles) Taylor of Dyersville, Alice (Ronald) Gudenkauf of New Venna, and Grace (Paul) Rahe of Dyersville; two sons: Phil (Virginia) Recker of Hopkinton and Joe Recker and fiance, Sandy Schattner of Earlville, and a Saughter-in-law, Betty Feldman of Worthington; 34 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren; one sister, Alfrieda Loeffelholz of Dyersville' three sisters-in-law: Generose Conrad and Dorothy Gaul of Dyersville and Anna Recker of Manchester, one brother-in-law, Walter Klosterman of Manchester.

Marcella was preceded in death by her husband, John in 1985; a son, Eugene in 1984; two brothers: Irvin and John Conrad; and four sisters: Angeline Trinen, Susan Eike, Viola Streif and Helen Klosterman and three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Memorials may be given to St. Francis Xavier Grade School, St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Beckman High School and Hospice.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Oak Crest Manor and Hospice for all their wonderful care and support.
