John W. Conrad Sr., 75, of Farley, died Friday (Jan. 13, 1984) at St. Mary's Unit of Mercy Health Center, Dyersville.
Funeral was at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16, at St. Joseph's Church, Farley. Rev. Raynold Sigwarth officiated. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery,
Farley.
John W. Conrad was born Dec. 18, 1906, at Bankston, son of the late William and Anna (Loutsch) Conrad. He received his education in the Bankston schools. He was a membr of St.
Joseph's Parish and the Farley Senior Citizens.
He married Hilda Scherbring Feb. 14,1933, at St. Peter and Paul Church, Petersburg. He farmed all of his life in the Farley area prior to his retirement in 1960.
Survivers are his wife; six sons, Lavern and Bill Conrad, both of Epworth; Vincent of Newport, Richey, Fla., Daniel of Cascade, John Jr., of Lamotte, and Ronald of Dubuque; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Ann Kramer of Epworth, Mrs. Charles (Doris) Davis of St. Catherine's, and Mrs. Clem (Joan) Hoefler of New Vienna; 30 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A brother, Irvin Conrad of Dyersville, and five sisters, Mrs. Angie Treinen of Remsen, Mrs. Susan Eike of Ryan, Mrs. John (Marcella) Recker of
Dyersville, Mrs. Walter (Helen) Klostermann of Edgewood and Mrs. Walter (Freda) Loeffelholz of Earlville.
He was prceded in death by his parents, a sister Viola Streif, a granddaughter, grandson and greatgrandchild.
