William Jackson Gould was born on January 3, 1882 in Shelby Springs, Shelby, Alabama to his proud parents, Green G. Gould (1855 - 1919) & Elizabeth F. Moore (1856 - 1931).

William Jackson Gould & his siblings relocated from Shelby Springs, Shelby, Alabama with his parents, Green G. Gould & Elizabeth F. Moore in the Spring of 1885 to Lake, Scott, Mississippi. In 1888 they relocated to Conehatta Village, Newton, Mississippi and were recorded as living there in the 1900 U.S. Federal Census. They relocated once again to Lake, Scott, Mississippi to the small community of Oak Grove just a few miles south of Lake, Mississippi in 1906.

He Married late in life on February 14, 1940 to Mary Bishop Loper (1881 - 1947) at the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Lake, Scott, Mississippi where both were later interred. This union produced no children.

On September 16, 1955 at his home in the Oak Grove community of Lake, Scott, Mississippi, William Jackson Gould passed away.
