FROSTBURG,MARYLAND -- Margaret R. Komatz, 88, of Frostburg, died Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, at WMHS-Frostburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born on Oct. 15, 1921, in Magnolia, W.Va., she was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Airhart and Edith (Kasecamp) Airhart; two brothers, Bill Airhart and Pete Airhart; three sisters, Almeta Femi, Donna Airhart, and Nellie Lancaster; one grandson, Jayme Komatz; and one daughter-in-law, Donna Komatz.
Margaret was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband of 72 years, George Komatz; three sons, George Komatz Jr., of Pomona, Calif., Ronald Komatz, of Eckhart, and Dale Komatz and wife Brenda, of Frostburg; one daughter, Sally Knotts and husband Allen, of Eckhart; two sisters, Virginia Warnick, of Lonaconing, and Helen Nicol and husband Harold, of Lonaconing; seven grandchildren, Tina Komatz, Ronnie Komatz and wife Jackie, Doug Knotts, Jennifer Knotts and fiance Kevin Zuzak, Randy Knotts and wife Arin, Margaret Knotts, and Logan Michaels; seven great-grandchildren, Matthew Komatz, Kira Knotts, Keely Knotts, Zoe Zuzak, Kacey Komatz, Emma Komatz, and Kenley Komatz; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., Frostburg, on Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, from 4 to 7 p.m.
Services will be conducted on Tuesday, Jan. 12, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Deacon Fred Passauer officiating.
Interment will be at Rest Lawn Mausoleum.
