A submarine captain, he was president of the 1953 class association and director of development for Vinson Hall, the Sea Services' retirement home after retirement and also Frank Wolf's campaign manager in his first run for Congress.

Service will be held at Fort Myer Chapel, 1 p.m., on Wednesday, February 24, 2009. Followed by interment with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the US Naval Academy Foundation.
