Mrs. Schaefer - Clareus was a graduate of Sayville High School, attended Heffley secretarial school, and worked as a secretary with the Pennsylvania Railroad until her first marriage in 1944. Following her first husband's passing she remarried to Douglas Clareus in 1979. She was a past matron of Metlakhatla Chapter 439, Order of the Eastern Star and a volunteer at Good Samaritan Nursing Home and St Ann's Episcopal Church.
