Matilda C. Fischer, 89, formerly of Brillion, died on Wednesday, Sept 23, at St. Mary’s Home in Manitowoc.

She was born April 13, 1903, the daughter of John and Mary Bruel Geiger. She was married on Sept. 29, 1937 to William G. Fischer of Brillion. She was formerly employed at Ariens Co., Brillion, and she taught millinery in the Calumet County area.

She was a member of the Christian Mothers of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brillion. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1957, and five brothers.

Survivors include one sister, Cecilia Pretzel, Manitowoc; one brother, John Geiger, Manitowoc; three brothers-in-law, Ben Fischer, Manitowoc; Oscar Rappel, Sheboygan; and Daniel Fischer, Rural Cato; three sisters-in-law, rose Geiger, Brillion; Mrs. Joe Remata Pritzel, DePere; Mary Geiger, San Louis Manor, Green Bay.

Funeral services were at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brillion. Father John Neuser officiated. Burial took place in the parish cemetery.
