HERMAN W. AMES
RENSSELAER -- Herman William Ames, 81, of Rt. 3, died in his home at 12:35 a.m. today, apparently of a heart attack.
Retired as a self-employed painter, he was born in Madison but had been a resident of Jasper County since 1907. Mr. Ames was educated in Jasper County public schools.
In 1920 he was married in Rensselaer to Virginia A. Yeoman who survives. A veteran of World War I in the Army, he was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 29, Veterans of Foreign Wars 1279, World War I Barracks and Prairie Lodge 125 F&AM.
Surviving with his wife are two sons, H. DeVere and Richard D., both of Rensselaer; and a brother, Arthur L., Rensselaer.
