US Senator, South Dakota Governor. He served as a United States Senator from South Dakota from 1921 until his death in 1936, and from 1917 to 1921, served as Governor of South Dakota. Also served as a Delegate to the Republican National Convention from South Dakota in 1924, and Lieutenant Governor of South Dakota from 1915 to 1917.
