Paul was the son of Ivan John "Jay" Jr. and June Mary Cobb McFerran Bollinger, brother to Joel, Cheryl, Jay David, Diane, Phillip and brother-in-law, grandson, uncle, nephew and friend. Paternal grandparents were Elmer and Iva Bollinger and the late Ivan John McFerran Sr. Maternal grandparents were Bryan William Cobb and Mary Veronica Joyce.
