Walter Lee (or Walter Lawrence?) Rothrock was the eleventh of twelve known children of John Gideon Rothrock (1854-1929) and Lucinda Mariah Lawrence (1857-1927), who married 24 Dec 1876 at Forsyth County, North Carolina.

Walter married Addie Louella Todd (1900-1974) on 30 May 1918 at Forsyth County, North Carolina. Walter and Addie were the parents of three known children, namely:

1. Evelyn Gray Rothrock Byrum (1919-2011)
2. Addie Ruth Rothrock Pulch (1920-1979)
3. Walter Lawrence Rothrock (1922-1923)
