Born Dec. 15, 1912, in New Castle Township, Coshocton County, she was a daughter of the late James and Karen (Carpenter) Allen.
She attended New Castle School and was a chief inspector at the former Firestone Co. during World War II when the plant manufactured bullet-proof tanks for the war effort. She also was employed by General Electric as an inspector in various departments for the first five years the factory had begun operation in Coshocton.
She was a 75-year member of Central Christian Church.
On March 28, 1936, she married Charles R. Wright, who preceded her in death March 28, 2004.
Surviving are a son, Timothy C. (Diane) Wright of Coshocton; a daughter, Alice C. Wright of Warsaw, and special friends, Ken and Kurt Shriver, of Coshocton; a grandson, Timothy Wright II and special friend, Brandy Burns, of Coshocton; a granddaughter, Stephanie Alica Wright and fianc?, Brad Rollison, of Perrysburg; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Rebecca Wright; and 15 brothers and sisters.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005, at New Castle Cemetery, with the Rev. Philip H. Hunt officiating.
