BRIDGEWATER — Mattie Frances Wise, 90, of 211 E. College St., Bridgewater died Monday afternoon at her home. She had been in failing health three years.

Mrs. Wise was born Aug. 26, 1887 in Augusta County and was a daughter of the late Joseph M. and Dianna Miller Glick.

She moved to Bridgewater in 1932 and was a member of Bridgewater Church of the Brethren. She attended Bridgewater College and was a former schoolteacher in Augusta County.

On Jan. 8, 1912, she married Roscoe L. Wise, who died July 20, 1915.

Surviving are three daughters, Olive Wise Forbes of Stuarts Draft, Violet J. Wise, at home, and Frances Wise Wine of Rt. 2, Bridgewater; a son, Orville. J. Wise of Bridgewater; two brothers, the Rev. John T. Glick of Bridgewater and J. Paul Glick of Waynesboro; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and four step-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday at the McMullen Bridgewater Funeral Home by Dr. Robert L. Sherfy. Burial will be in St. Michael's Church cemetery.

The body is at the funeral home, where friends may call. The family will receive friends at the Wise home at 211 E. College St., Bridgewater.
