Married October 9, 1911 in Wichita, Kansas to Philip Ola Dewater.

Clara Etta (Adams)Dewater was married to Philip Ola Dewater. They were the parents of 14 children: Elsie Elizabeth, Helen Arnola, Ruth Marie, Beulah Leota, Charles Keith, Dorothy Ilene, Russell Adams, Fern Eula, Rhea Mae, Ralph Hamilton,
Philip Lee, Marlys Jean, Darlene Lucille, Etta Nadine.
They lived for many years in Casebeer Heights (Now Evansdale) Iowa. Etta spent her last years at Parkview Garden Nursing home in Waterloo. Her husband, Philip Ola committed suicide in 1951 at Casebeer Hights, Iowa. As of 2/20/2007 there are only three children living. Rhea Mae Brawner, Darlene Lucille Anthony, & Marlys Jean Hovey.

Services for Clara Etta Dewater, 89, of Parkview Gardens Care Center and formerly of Evansdale, are planned for 2:30 p.m. Friday at Parrott and Wood Funeral Home. She died early Wednesday at Parkview Gardens Care Center.

She was born Jan. 22, 1893, daughter of Charles and Catheryn Elizabeth Rennaker Adams. She married Philip Dewater Oct. 9, 1911, in Kansas, and he died In 1951.

Surviving are two sons, Keith of 1030 Brookside St., Evansdale, and Russell of Joplin, Mo.; seven daughters, Mrs. Helen Ponte of 4249 Lafayete Road, Etta Nadlne Liebert of 1105 Ansborough Ave., Mrs. Ruth Marie Martin of Hutchinson, Kan., Mrs. Beulah Leta Teal of Carl Junction, Mo., Mrs. Rhea Mae Brawner of Hutchinson, Kan., Mrs. Darlene Lucille Anthony of Salinas, Calif., and Mrs. Marlys Jean Hovey of Cresco; 55 grandchildren; 108 greatgrandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Alice Fern Shannon of Clearwater, Kan.; and a brother, Allen Walker. Adams of Russell, Kan.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Thursday.
