Mom died this date August 28, 2011 at Hospice House of Reno County, Hutchinson,Kansas. She went to the Hutchinson Hospital at 5:00am August 23, 2011 from Mennonite Manor Nursing home. On August 25th she went to Hospice house from the hospital at 11:00am. On August 28th at 5:56pm mom passed away at Hospice house. Mom passed peacefully sleeping. She is the last of the DeWater family of Phillip Ola and Clara Etta DeWater. Mom had 13 brothers and sisters.

**1942** between 8th grade and 9th grade mom had her first child a baby girl. She had the baby at home of her parents with a Doctor at the house in Waterloo, Iowa the baby girl died.

Mom was living in Moose Lake, Minnesota when she got pregnant with Roberta. Mom had moved from Minnesota to Hutchinson in August 1944 at age 16. She lived at 218 Osborne Street, Hutchinson. She worked at Betts Bakery. She turned 17 October 29th and Roberta was born November 18, 1944. Mom had left Iowa in early 1944 to get away from her dad. She had gone to Moose Lake, Minn., where 2 of her sisters lived with their families. While there mom got pregnant by the husband of her sister Helen. We have had DNA testing completed which does confirm that Forrest Alcott was Roberta's father.

Mom gave birth to a son; Harlan Jess Grandon
Born to Rhea Mae DeWater and to Jess Grandon. Baby died premature after living 9 hours. Rhea was in her 7th month of pregnancy. Her first boy born in Bedford, Iowa.
