Mrs. Addie Belle Heim 1958 Bridgewater Bulletin
The community of Chelsea was saddened to learn of the passing of its oldest citizen, Mrs. Addie Belle Heim, on November 13, 1958, at the home of her youngest son, Bruce, who with his wife cared for her through many years of failing health. Her late husband, Dempson Heim, predeceased her in 1939.
She was born in Chelsea in 1872, daughter of the late Thomas and Charlotte Baker, and lived her entire life in Chelsea.
The funeral service was held at the Chelsea United Baptist Church with Rev. Hinson MacLeod, Bridgewater, officiating. Hymns sung were "What A Friend We Have in Jesus," Jesus, Saviour, Pilot Me," and "Rock of Ages." Pall bearers were Ralph and Clyde Uhlman, Basil Weagle, and Randall Meisner.
Surviving to mourn their loss are three daughters and five sons, Gladys, Bridgewater, (widow of Charles Colp); Paul, Holden, Massachusetts; John, Lexington, Massachusetts; Annie, Wollaston, Massachusetts, (widow of Gordon Chancy); Silas, Lewis, Bruce, and Mary (Mrs. Bernard Slauenwhite), all of Chelsea. Two daughters and one son predeceased her: Annie, Ernest, and Susie (Mrs. Lester Robar). Also surviving are five sisters and two brothers: Austin Baker, Upper Chelsea; Albert Baker, Framingham, Massachusetts; Bertha (Mrs. Elijah Henley), of Chelsea; Janie (Mrs. George Tall (Taul?), South Brookfield; Stella (Mrs. Joseph Uhlman), New Elm; Ella (Mrs. Ray Uhlman), Bridgewater; Annie Baker, New York. There are twenty-five grandchildren and forty great-grandchildren.
The floral tributes were many and beautiful.
