From his obituary:
"The late Mr. Grant, who was born in the community 86 years ago, spent his long life in the neighborhood of his birthplace, and while of a quiet, retiring disposition, he was ever highly regarded by his friends and neighbors, among whom he lived and visited for so many years. Mr. Grant enjoyed good health until within a short time of his death and was only confined to his be for one week."
The funeral was out of St. Andrew's church with interment at St. Andrew's cemetery. ev. J.L. Gourlay officiated assisted by Rev. Dr. Sutherland of Knox church.

MR. ALLAN GRANT
On Thursday, 8th February, the death occurred at his late residence
3rd Lancaster, of Mr. Allan Grant. Deceased who was 86 years of age,
was well and generally known and as highly respected. He is survived
by four brothers and three sisters, Donald of Montana, Finlay, Fort
William, Ont, Alexander and Thomas, and Isabel, at home, Mrs. Smith
of Plattsburg and Mrs. D. Fraser, The funeral to St. Andrew's church
and cemetery, South Lancaster was held on Saturday, Rev. J.J. L.
Gourley assisted by Rev. Dr. H. C. Sutherland officiating. The
pallbearers were Geo. Wightman, Wm. Secours, R. McNaughton, D. J.
McLennan, J. J. Sangster and Geo Fourney.
