He married Claudia Zell Burnham on December 20, 1904 in the St. George Temple. They moved to Idaho and began their life together. Claudia gave birth on July 15, 1905 to their premature baby daughter and they both died and are buried in the Rexburg Cemetery in Idaho. Nephi made his way back to Orderville in southern Utah and began farming with his older brother Carlos in Iron County in what would become known as Stevensville, close to Enoch.
On December 2, 1914 Nephi married Clarinda Dalton from Rockville in the St. George Temple and they had five children. Nephi died of heart problems at age 45. Clara and the children moved back to her hometown of Rockville where she raised the children alone. She lived as a widow for the rest of her life until her death in 1982 ate age 92 and was buried beside Nephi in the Enoch Cemetery.
