Minnie Deseret Stevens was the fourth child of Charles Franklin Stevens and Olive Emily DeMille. Her mother was bedridden after the birth of their second child, Carlos who was a 10 pound baby, so for the remainder of Minnie's teenage years, the responsibility fell upon her to tend to the young ones as they came into the family. Minnie was good with children and always kept them clean. She helped her mother by keeping the house and children clean and tidy. She was a good seamstress and took turns with her sisters at cooking. After the family moved from Orderville down to Stevensville (Enoch) Minnie lived in a cabin next to her brother Carlos' home until the John Mickelsen Lang family moved to the area with his children. His wife had recently passed away and it wasn't long before Minnie finally found her mate in life, and they were married on October 29, 1914 in the St. George Temple.

Minnie and John had their first child, Carlos Stevens Lang. Their second son, Charles Franklin Lang was stillborn. They had two more children, Olive Emily and Golden. Seven hours after the birth of their fifth child, Dee Stevens Lang was born, Minnie hemorrhaged and passed away at the age of 41. She was buried on July 31, 1922 in the Cedar City Cemetery beside her mother.
