Lois Louise Smith, 83, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 1999, in Ocean Springs. Mrs. Smith was born in Taylorsville and was a lifelong resident of the coast. She was a Protestant. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodman C. Smith; a son, Tommy Dale Smith; and two grandchildren, Christine Lois Prince and Angela Smith. Survivors include three daughters, Jewell Walker of Perkinston, Sandra Atwood and Jeanell Smith, both of Ocean Springs; three sons, Gordon Smith and Ruby Smith, both of Biloxi, and Joe Smith of Fort Walton, Fla.; three sisters, Beulah Stringer, Jewell Blackmon, both of Biloxi, and Margorie Sullivan of Woolmarket; a brother, Joe Hankins of Lucedale; 17 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren. A service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi where friends may call from noon until service time. Burial will be in Biloxi City Cemetery.
