Obituary:Ernest Henry Bote, was born April 21, 1874 on his parents' farm in Dallas Township, Marion County, Iowa, just west of St Paul Lutheran Church in Germantown. He died February 18, 1947 at 72 years, 10 months and 7 days of age. The cause of his death was a stroke. He was buried on March 3, 1947 in the St Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery in Dallas Township, Marion County, Iowa. He died after somewhat severe suffering and short illness. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry August Bote; mother, Caroline (Schroeder) Bote; brother Albert Bote and an infant sister, Hannah Bote. He leaves to mourn his passing, his brothers and sisters: William, Henry, and Lorenz of Lacona, Iowa; Dan of Des Moines, Iowa; Rudolph of Winterset, Iowa; Mrs. Rosa McNeil of Melcher, Iowa; Mrs. John Feight and Mrs. Tate Ferber of Lacona, Iowa. To these may be added numerous nephews and niees, other relatives,many friends, faithful neighbors, fellow church members and other associates. Pastor E. L. Wittenburg conducted the services March 3, 1947 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church and cemetery. Heinrich never married and spent his entire life in this community as a tiller of the soil. He was an upright citizen, a model church member, having always uppermost in his mind the welfare of the children and the young of the congregation. Written by his nephew, Erich E.
