Death Notice: Funeral services for Minnie (Bote) Ferber, who died October 5, 1971, at Collins Hospital, were held October 8, 1971 at St. John Lutheran Church in Melcher, Iowa with Rev. Kenneth Curry officiating. Burial was in St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery near Lacona, Iowa with Flanagan-Mosher Funeral Home in charge. Casketbearers were Walter Herold, Clifford Haselhuhn, Earnest Langebartel, Dean Knust, Louis Starkovich and Leonard Dhabalt. Wilma Bote, organist accompanied Mary Haselhuhn soloist. Minnie C., daughter of Henry and Carolina (Schroeder) Bote, was born March 28, 1886 on the Bote farmstead in Marion County and was a lifetime member of the Lutheran Church. She was also an active member of Dallcher Unit 632, American Legion Auxiliary. On December 29, 1909 she was united in marriage to Theodore Ferber. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and seven brothers. Surviving are four daughters: Mrs. Herman (Gladys) Baumann of Monroe, Mrs. Andy (Frances) Vigness of Des Moines, Mrs. Kenneth (Dorothy) Borchert of Janesville, WI and Mrs. A. D.
