“Melcher Rites for Mrs. McNeill"
Funeral services for Mrs. Rose McNeil, who died March 5, 1964, at Collins Memorial Hospital, were held March 8, 1964 from the Melcher Methodist Church with Rev. Don Glazier officiating. Burial was in the Dallas Cemetery under the auspices of Order of Eastern Star. The Flanagan Funeral Home was in charge. She was 82y 6m 23d old. Casket bearers were her nephews Irvin Baumann, Max Feight, Dee Isenberg, Herman Baumann, Elmer Feight, and John Becker. Mrs. Alma Louise Bagnall, soloist, was accompanied by Mrs. Perry Harvey, organist.

Rosina, daughter of Henry and Caroline (Schroeder) Bote, was born August 10, 1881 at Germantown in Marion County, Iowa. On April 18, 1906 she was united in marriage to John Park McNeil and to this union one son was born.
About 50 years ago, the family moved to Melcher from Caloma where they operated a general store and post office. She was a charter member of Melcher Methodist Church. She was also a charter member of the Order of Eastern Star here and was a member of the White Shrine at Chariton, Iowa and a charter member of Dallcher Unit No. 632, American Legion Auxiliary. Her parents, her husband, six brothers, two sisters and one grandson preceded her in death. Surviving are her son, Dwight McNeil and daughter-in-law, Jane McNeil of Alamogordo, New Mexico; one granddaughter, Sharon McNeil of Oakland, California; one sister, Mrs. T. C. [Minnie] Ferber, Melcher and one brother, Rudolph Bote of Winterset, Iowa. 61
