Florence 0. Swearingen, 93, of Sun City, Az. and formerly of Casey, died at 9:40 p.m. Sunday, January 21,1996 atBreighton Gardens Nursing Home, Sun City, Az.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Casey First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tom Marsh officiating. Burial was in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey. Visitation was 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

She was born June 13, 1902 in Crawford County, Ill. to George Alexander and Anna Newberry Alexander. She was married October 15,1921 to Ralph H. Swearingen. He preceded her in death on June 9,1988.

She was a homemaker, member of the Sun City Baptist Church and former member of the Casey First Baptist Church.

Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Leon (Lois) Staley of Sun City, Az., Norma Chamberlin of Phoenix, Az., and Mrs. Deon (Joyce) Hanners of Casey; son, Robert D. Swearingen of Sacramento, Ca.; sister, Ruth Lown of Terre Haute, Ind.; 14 grandchildren, including Brent Shull, Brian Shull, Rodney Shull, Ivan Shull, Brenda Summerville, and Lisa Williams; 27 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grand- children.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Helen Finney; and two grandchildren.
