"Joseph T. Davey, age 83, Dodgeville, died on Monday, August 25, 1986 in a Dodgeville nursing home after a long illness. Mr. Davey was born in Dodgeville to Joseph and Ida Tyrer Davey on Feb. 10, 1903. He was married to the former Elsie Pyzer of Rewey on April 20, 1935. The couple lived in Dodgeville all their married life where Mr. Davey was employed by the City of Dodgeville Street Department."
"Mrs. Davey preceded him in death on Oct. 19, 1981. He is survived by a niece, whom they raised as a daughter, Mrs. Daniel (Susan Aide) Hansen, McFarland; one brother, Willard (Marie) Davey, Madison; and one sister, Mrs. Alex (Mamie) Engles, Beloit; besides several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Thursday, Aug. 28 in the Luloff-Peterson Funeral Home, Dodgeville, Rev. Verlyn Harr will officiate. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery. A visitation was held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 7-9 pm."
Cause of death: Lung carcinoma, metastasized.
