Ms. Wilder, who died in her 72nd year, was the fourth of five children born to Violet Blair Martin Wilder of the Martins of "Willowbrook", and Gen. Wilber E. Wilder, a winner of the Congressional Medal of Honor during the Indian Wars. Predeceased by her parents, her brothers Throop and Wilber E. Wilder Jr., and her sister Sylvia Wilder Gascoigne, her survivors included her younger sister Violet. The inscription on her gravestone reads "MARRIED IN 1923, MOTHER OF ELLIOTT WILDER HERRIES CLARKE, LOVED SISTER OF VIOLET".
