Union Captain. Served in Company I, 3rd Maine Infantry. As a 1st Lt in company I, Anderson was captured 20 Jun 1863 in Virginia and sent to an unknown prison camp.
Enlisted in Company I, Maine 3rd Infantry Regiment on 04 Jun 1861.Promoted to Full 1st Sergeant. Promoted to Full 1st Lieutenant on 15 Jun 1862. Mustered out on 28 Jun 1864.
The 3rd Maine was active from 4 Jun 1861 to 28 Jun 1864 and this unit fought at the following battles:
