Mrs. Dominic Loutsch leaves 124 descendants

Mrs. Dominic (Catherine) Loutsch, 90, of Remsen, died Saturaday (Feb. 9, 1985), after a brief illness at Happy Siesta Retirement Home at Remsen.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St.Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen. Rev. LeRoy Seuntjens will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. Monday by the Christian Mothers and Catholic Daughters of America and at 8 p.m. by the parish in the Fisch Funeral Home in Remsen.

Mrs. Loutsch, the former Catherine Niehus, was born June 27, 1894, at Petersburg, to August and Theresa (Forester) Niehus. She came to the Remsen area as a child with her parents. She was raised and educated in Remsen.

She married Dominic Loutsch Feb. 9,1915, in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen. They farmed in the Remsen area until 1954 when they retired and moved to Remsen. He died Sept. 19, 1972. She had lived at Happy Siesta Retirement Home since August 1984.

Mrs. Loutsch was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers and Catholic Daughters of America, all of Remsen.

Survivors are six sons, John, Gene, Arthur, Dale and Paul, all of Remsen and Vernon of Le Mars; five daughters, Mrs. Alvin (Delores) Groepper, Mrs. Emmert (Norma) Tentinger and Mrs, Kenneth (Kathleen) Groepper, all of Remsen, Mrs. Farrell (Colette) Wright of Moville and Mrs. Mike (Alice) Seuntjens of Kingsley; one brother, Joe of Remsen; three sisters, Mrs. John (Clara) Loutsch and Mrs. Anthony (Loretta) Harpenau, both of Remsen and Mrs. Clarence (Florence) Schroeder of Le Mars; 52 grandchildren and 61 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mrs. Theodore (Anna) Bunkers.
