Dale Andrew Loutsch, 88, of Remsen, IA, died June 1, 2018, after a one-week stay at Happy Siesta in Remsen.

A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 4, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen, with Fr. William McCarthy officiating and Deacon Rick Roder assisting. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Remsen. Graveside military honors will be conducted by V.F.W. Post 3328 and American Legion Post 220 of Remsen. Visitation with family present will be Sunday 4-7 p.m. There will be a Knights of Columbus rosary and a vigil prayer service at 5:00 p.m. at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.

Dale was born on September 9, 1929, to Dominic and Kate (Niehus) Loutsch in Remsen. He received his education at Remsen St. Mary's, graduating in 1946.

He farmed with his dad until he entered the US Army for two years in January 1952; he was stationed at Fort Bliss, TX; White Sands, NM; and Germany. He received an honorable discharge in 1954.

Dale married Joyce Thill on February 9, 1954, at Remsen St. Mary's. They made their home on the family farm, where they raised their six children.

Dale was an active member of Remsen St. Mary's Church and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and winning at the casino. He also enjoyed any and all visits from family and friends.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 64 years, Joyce; and children, Alan (Linda), Tony (Kate), Lori (Ray) Pick, Cindy (Mark) Schilmoeller, Lyle (Jackie), and Beth (Chad) Dreckman; 30 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; siblings, Vernon (Marge), Collette Wright, and Alice Seuntjens; and sisters-in-law, LaVonne Loutsch, Ellen Ruhland, and Darlene Arens.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Dominic and Kate; in-laws, Al and Agnes Thill; granddaughter, Amber Schilmoeller; brothers, John (Cleo), Gene (Mary), Art (Dorothy), and Paul; sisters, Delores (Alvin) Groepper, Norma (Les Sheehan, Emmert Tentinger), and Kathleen (Ken) Groepper; and brothers-in-law, Farrell Wright and Mick Seuntjens.

Casket Bearers: Rick Loutsch, Michael Loutsch, Nathan Pick, Eric Schilmoeller, Scott Loutsch, and Andrew Pottebaum.

Honorary Bearers: All Dale's grandchildren, great-grandchildren and members of the Knights of Columbus.
