Lois M. Graham, Galesburg Chapel
78 of Lakeland, Fla., formerly of Galesburg, Ill., died at 11:31 p.m. Friday, May 13, 2011 at her home in Lakeland.
She was born December 30, 1932 in Galesburg at Cottage Hospital. She was the daughter of Walter and Alice Hanson. She married James D. (BoBo) Graham on November 29, 1953 in Woodhull, Ill. He preceded her in death on January 13, 2007.
Surviving are four daughters, Connie Graham of Lakeland, Fla., Cynthia (and Mark) Spencer of Sarasota, Fla., Colleen Graham of Bradenton, Fla., and Michele Graham of North Manchester, Ind.; a grandson, Sean Spencer of Sarasota; a granddaughter, Mia Nadborne of North Manchester; her brother, Lavern (and Jeannette) Hanson of Alpha, Ill.; her nephews, Tom Hanson, Larry Peterson and Roger Peterson; and a niece, Kathy Sayrs. She was preceded in death by her sister, Marjorie Peterson.
She was retired from Galesburg Cottage Hospital, where she was the volunteer services coordinator. She graduated from R.O.V.A. High School in 1950 and attended Brown's Business College in Galesburg. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285 and active in the Ladies Auxiliary. She was a terrific sports fan, following the NBA teams Chicago Bulls and LA Lakers. She enjoyed bowling, swimming, gardening, knitting and reading and her family throughout her lifetime.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday May 21, 2011 in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. The Rev. Dr. Tom Larsen will officiate. Visitation will be 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Good Shepherd Hospice of Lakeland, Fla., or the charity of the donor's choice.
