Elizabeth V. Sweitzer

DOVER - Elizabeth V. Sweitzer, 78, died at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at Northern Memorial Medical Center, Robinsdale, Minn. She was the wife of Kenneth E. Sweitzer, the couple observed their 54th wedding anniversary August 15, 2002.
Viewing 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Lutheran Church, 9 N. Main St., Dover. Funeral services to begin 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in St. Jacob's (Stone) Church Cemetery. Officiating will be her pastor, Rev. John M. Woods and retired pastor, Rev. Richard L. Ehrhart. The Emig Funeral Home, Dover, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Sweitzer was born October 14, 1924 in Codorus Township, a daughter of the late John P. and Lizzie V. (Kraber) Caslow.
She was a graduate of Codorus Township High School, class of 1942. Mrs. Sweitzer received her Bachelor of Science degree from Millersville University in 1946, and did her post graduate studies at Duke University. She had taught elementary school in York City Schools and Dover Area Schools for over 25 years. Following retirement, she worked in the clerical department of Pfaltzgraff for 10 years. Mrs. Sweitzer was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Dover, where she was a church council and choir member. She was active in Lutheran Social Services. Mrs. Sweitzer was a performer with American Legion Shows during the 1950's - 1960's and York Little Theatre during the 1970's - 1980's. She was a member of PA Teachers Association Retirees and past president of the York County College Club. She was also a volunteer for Martin Memorial Library.
She also leaves daughter, Penny M. Sweitzer and son-in-law, Gary Smith, both of Minneapolis, Minn.; daughter, Marcia Feehan and son-in-law, Terry Feehan, both of York; her pride and joy grandchildren, Jacob Feehan and Kathryn Feehan, both of York; and many nieces and nephews.
